Riding high at Silverstone’s MotoGP™

The OCTO British MotoGP™ roared back to the home of British motor racing in August for three action packed days of breathtaking racing. Huge and enthusiastic crowds flocked to the circuit to cheer global stars like Valentino Rossi, Marc Márquez and Andrea Dovizioso, as well as local heroes such as Cal Crutchlow, Scott Redding, Bradley Smith and Eugene Laverty, in Round 12 of the 2015 World Championship season.

Billed as a “fantastic weekend of entertainment to support the on-track action and deliver a great fun filled experience for the spectators – young and old”, the MotoGP™ didn’t disappoint. Even the race day drizzle failed to dampen the spirits among the spectators in the packed grandstands who enjoyed a carnival atmosphere that was as electric as the 200 mph shoulder-to-shoulder epic Silverstone showdown on the track.

Those seeking relaxation and refreshment were never far from the action with Freemans Event Partners managing nearly 120 food and beverage concessions and offering a wide variety of food and beverage outlets at all of the race-goers’ favourite haunts around the 3½ mile circuit, such as Luffield, Stowe and Becketts, as well as a dedicated VIP-style outdoor Riders Lounge and Elsies Bar at the Classic Village. Our own selected outlets also featured an appetising and innovative new menu, including traditional and classic “Comfort Food”, “Full of Flavour” choices such as The Full Monty and “Something Different”, with The Cheeky Chicken and Pork & Potatoes dishes.

For the first time, Freemans Event Partners were able to enlist the support of the Silverstone Circuit’s huge band of volunteer Race Makers to help distribute over 40,000 food-to-go maps to visitors. Dressed in a blue and pink uniform, the Race Makers were clearly visible to the thousands of fans pouring through the Silverstone gates welcoming them to the venue, providing directions and dealing with questions. As well as highlighting all the different types of food and beverage outlets, this year’s food-to-go maps included money-saving vouchers, with a special discount on Ribena, the UK’s leading juice drink brand, and the ever popular Tea & Twix Promotion.
