Golf, but not as you know it…

| Rachael Berry

Located in the North West of London, The Centurion Club near St Albans plays host to European Tour competition for the very first time, with GolfSixes launching on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th May.

Instead of the traditional four-day format, GolfSixes will bring exciting team-focused match play over two days. Saturday sees 16 teams of two playing in group stage competition, with the top two from each group progressing to Sunday’s knockout stages.

The players face a modified par 24 course of six feature holes around a central event village. Freemans Event Partners are operating all public catering offerings at this event, and have pulled out all the stops to create a gastronomical experience that offers a nod to the competing nations.

From specifically sourced South African sausages, to vibrant Thai food, traditional Italian pizzas and classic British fish and chips, fans can find a wide range of culinary offerings in the 40-metre marquee.  Team Bars shall be in attendance too, operating a ten-metre long counter bar for those who fancy a few pints as they take in the action from the heart of the event village.

The GolfSixes brings an exciting, fast-paced element to golf as a spectator sport, with big screens, grandstand seating and pyrotechnic displays. Themed holes enhance the experience further, with power, accuracy, and timed shots adding interest to this new event.

The team at Freemans Event Partners are really excited to be an integral part of this revolutionary new form of the game; even those who are not fans should find this to be an unforgettable experience and one that we hope will become a regular event following a successful introduction.
